Excuse Me, Your Job Is Waiting: Attract the work you want
Laura George
Hampton Roads Publishing Company, Inc.
Genre: Business/Self Help
Review
This book is based on Lynn Grabhorn's Excuse Me, Your Life Is
Waiting, four fundamental principles for attracting what we want to
our lives; identify what we don't want, naming what we do want,
getting into the feeling of what we want, and allowing what we want
to flow into our lives. Laura George has applied these principles to
the process of identifying the qualities that you want in a job.
Excuse Me, Your Job Is Waiting: Attract the Work You Want
provides insights, examples and exercises to help you connect with
your own energy and achieve your goals. I am particularly drawn to
Lynn Grabhorn's Laws of Attraction because it requires personal
acknowledgement and action to achieve what you want. In other
words, you create your life with your own energy. This is a concept
that I believe wholeheartedly, even when my energy is bringing me
what I don't want. If I can do that, I can get what I want with it as
well. If your desire is to align your career with your passion, this
book is a valuable tool to add to your job search resources

What Should I Do with My Life? The True Story of
People Who Answered the Ultimate Question
Written By: Po Bronson
Published by Ballantine Books, The Random House
Publishing Group a division of Random House, Inc.
Genre: Self Help/Careers
Review
"What Should I Do with My Life?" profiles a multitude of
people seeking meaning in what they do for a living. The
stories are drawn from interviews and personal observations
over a period of time. The most remarkable aspect of this
book, to me is just how honest and sometimes raw these true
stories are. The stories that
Po Bronson included in this book
are refreshingly real and within the reality of the stories,
beautiful and messy spiritual journeys are captured. There is
a freedom and relief that can be found in knowing that what
to do with life is not always obvious nor easy!

Review
As much as I believe in the career coaching approach to guiding
clients in the career development process, I understand that this
is not everyones cup of tea. This book may be a usefull alternative
to the coaching relationship for anyone who would prefer to
explore and evaluate this process independently. The book
includes tests to assess yourself in 10 different areas including,
values, skills, interests, personality and more.
