Biography - Karen Whitman Karen Whitman is a career coach who helps women that want to create a rewarding career while managing the sometimes overwhelming matters of their daily lives. With her children now grown and independent, Karen is transitioning into her coaching business after several years within senior management roles. Karen returned to College as a single parent when her children were six and two. Since then she has acquired more than sixteen years of experience within her roles, and has developed such leadership skills as mentoring, coaching, facilitating and strategic planning. Today Karen offers career coaching and mentoring through Coach-Align, to women who want to define their career goals, consider a transition or create career/life balance. Karen's desire is to see you close the gap between your goals and your reality to align your career with your passion! |

Recommendations: I look at Karen as my mentor. I've always been impressed with her approach to projects and challenges. Karen has an open mind and I have always felt comfortable talking to her about my challenges both at work and in life. I believe that is an important quality that a coach must have. Karen's advice has always been sound and factual based and she is very diligent in researching to find information or answers to help others. When I don't take Karen's advice, and choose my own path, she always has an accepting attitude and realizes that people need to make their own way to get to the same destination. There are several important factors in being a career coach; experience, respect and caring enough about people to help them to be all they can be. Karen's achieving a management position in a male dominated industry has earned her the credibility necessary to coach and encourage others to pursue opportunities, even though the road may be a little bumpy. Jason Sweeney Karen has experience in both work and life that could help someone who is "stuck" in whatever they find themselves. I would also say that Karen listens and cares, having dealt with personal and family issues successfully.
